"06.02.2010."On Friday, a spokesman for the Russian cable channel 2×2 said that a "South Park" episode it showed on Tuesday night had omitted a scene in which the show’s young characters telephone Mr. Putin, seeking his help to launch a dying whale to the moon".

"In the cartoon, Mr. Putin concludes that he is receiving a prank call from President George W. Bush.". The spokesman did not indicate whether the 2×2 channel or television regulators had made the cut, telling The A.P. only that "the given scene in this version was absent".

"Last year Russian prosecutors issued an official warning to 2×2, saying that its broadcast of the "South Park" episode "Mr. Hankey’s Christmas Classics" promoted "hatred between religions"; in June, a Moscow court canceled that warning".
