"EUROPA PRESS.30.12.2011."El depuesto presidente de Egipto, Hosni Mubarak, no acudirá al juicio que se celebra en su contra, por su propio pie ni en silla de ruedas, debido a su delicado estado de salud, según ha informado su abogado, Farid al Deeb, al diario "Al Masry al Youm".

"Anteriormente, Al Deeb había explicado que la cama en la que reposa Mubarak, está equipada para atenderle, en caso de que sufra un infarto, por lo que, probablemente, acudirá en ella".

"Mubarak, sus hijos Alá y Gamal, y el ex-ministro del Interior Habib al Adly, entre otros, están siendo juzgados por la muerte de los manifestantes durante las protestas populares, que propiciaron la caída del régimen el pasado 11 de febrero".

"Aunque estaba previsto que el juicio, se reanudara este miércoles, después de una pausa de tres meses, finalmente el Tribunal Penal de El Cairo, ha decidido aplazar su reanudación hasta el lunes, ante la solicitud al fiscal de que presente una lista con todos los manifestantes muertos, en el marco de la revolución".

"Además, los abogados de las familias de los manifestantes muertos, han solicitado la declaración como testigo del jefe del Estado Mayor, Sami Anan, ya que consideran que es clave para el proceso, junto a la del ex jefe de la Inteligencia Omar Suleiman, y los ex-ministros del Interior Mahmud Wagdi y Mansur el Eissawy".

"Durante los 18 días que duró la revolución egipcia, Amnistía Internacional calcula que unas 840 personas murieron, y 6.000 resultaron heridas como consecuencia de la violenta represión de las manifestaciones, por parte del régimen de Mubarak".

After reconvening Wednesday morning following a three-month hiatus, the Cairo Criminal Court adjourned the trial of former President Hosni Mubarak and other officials until Monday".

"The decision came after the public prosecution was asked to submit a list of those killed or injured since the beginning of the January revolution, as well as reports and investigations regarding the incidents".

Mubarak's sons Alaa and Gamal, former Interior Minister Habib al-Adly, six of Adly’s top aides, and businessman Hussein Salem are among the defendants in the trial".

"A number of skirmishes between Mubarak, supporters and relatives of protesters killed during the revolution erupted outside the Police Academy after the trial session ended. The fighting resumed when Mubarak supporters raised posters of the former president, angering the victims’ relatives and prompting a verbal exchange between the sides.
