"EUROPA PRESS.16.10.2011."Al menos 71 arrestados y cerca de 5.000 personas han secundado este sábado en Nueva York la manifestación celebrada en el marco de las marchas a nivel global con motivo del día 15-O que se han extendido a más de 80 países, según ha confirmado el Departamento de la Policía neoyorquina".

"En un comunicado, la Policía ha explicado que a las 20.00 hora local del sábado "2.00 hora peninsular española del domingo" ha detenido a 42 personas tras "avisar "en balde" de forma separada en tres ocasiones" a la multitud congregada que se dispersara, en las avenidas 46 y 6".

"Dos horas antes, los efectivos policiales han realizado otros tres arrestos en la calle 46 y en la avenida 7, en los aledaños de Times Square. Los individuos detenidos han tratado de "derribar las barreras policiales" colocadas en la calle y algunos han exclamado "contraatacar", aunque "la mayoría no ha apoyado las proclamas", ha afirmado la Policía".

"Así mismo, la Policía neoyorquina ha precisado que cinco personas que llevaban la cara cubierta con máscaras, han sido arrestados en la avenida número 6 y en la calle 27 a las 16.40 hora local del sábado "22.00 hora peninsular española", según ha informado la web The New York Daily News".

"Por otra parte, la Policía asegura en el comunicado que, "la marcha de centenares de manifestantes del parque Zuccotti "rebautizado plaza de la Libertad", hacia el parque Washington Square" se ha desarrollado de "forma ordenada", si bien "un grupo pequeño" logró abandonar por la mañana el parque, e intentó irrumpir en una sede de la entidad bancaria Citibank".

"Por esta razón, 24 personas fueron detenidas, según ha sostenido la Policía, y una de ellas, además, con cargos por desacato a la autoridad, y dos por resistencia a la detención".

"La marcha de los 'indignados' neoyorquinos ha desembocado en Times Square. Los asistentes han portado pancartas con lemas como "Hemos sido vendidos, los bancos rescatados" y "Todos los días, todas las semanas, ocuparemos Wall Street", informa Reuters".

"En otros puntos del país, el número de personas que han secundado la manifestación ha rondado también los 5.000, como en Los Ángeles y en Detroit, donde ha predominado la calma. En Toronto, 2.000 personas han salido a las calles, y han instaurado una acampada en uno de los parques de la ciudad".
